Harry Burleigh was a significant American classical composer and singer recognized for his baritone voice. He contributed greatly to the development of American music by making black music more approachable to classically trained artists. This inspiration led Dvořák to incorporate elements of Black music into some of his most famous works, shaping his belief that Black music would play a vital role in the foundation of American classical music.
