Johannes ‘Hans’ Baur was a talented aviator who started as a flying ace in World War I. He went on to become Adolf Hitler’s personal pilot during the early 1930s political campaigns and led the Reichsregierung squadron. Following World War II in Europe, Baur was captured by the Soviet Union and spent ten years in imprisonment. He remained acknowledged for his aviation contributions until his passing in 1993.
