Grace Lee Boggs was known as an American author, social activist, philosopher, and feminist. She collaborated politically with C. L. R. James and Raya Dunayevskaya in the 1940s and 1950s. In the 1960s, she and her husband, James Boggs, followed their unique political path. By 1998, she had authored four books, including an autobiography. Remaining active in her later years, she wrote a fifth book in 2011 titled The Next American Revolution: Sustainable Activism for the Twenty-First Century. Boggs is celebrated for her significant contributions to the Asian American, Black Power, and Civil Rights movements.
