Giovanna Amati is an Italian ex-professional race car driver who is recognized as the most recent female to compete in the Formula One World Championship. She began racing in the Formula Abarth series and later advanced to Formula Three. Despite encountering difficulties in Formula 3000 and in Japan, she demonstrated enhanced performances upon her return to Europe in 1990. In 1992, Amati created history by becoming the fifth and final female Formula One driver when she joined Brabham.
