Germán Silva Martínez is a Mexican former long-distance runner known for his success in the marathon. He achieved back-to-back victories at the New York City Marathon in 1994 and 1995 and represented Mexico at the Summer Olympics in 1992 and 1996. Silva also competed at the World Championships in Athletics. His personal best in the marathon is two hours, eight minutes, and 56 seconds. Additionally, he won a gold medal in the steeplechase at the 1990 Central American and Caribbean Games and secured a silver medal at the 1994 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.
