George Wishart was a Scottish Protestant Reformer known for his teachings and preaching in various locations such as Montrose, Dundee, and Ayrshire. He was well-educated, having studied at the University of Aberdeen and spent time on the Continent. Wishart also taught Greek and resided in Cambridge for about six years. Upon returning to Scotland, he continued to spread the Reformed doctrines, eventually being apprehended, tried, and condemned as a heretic. He was executed at the stake in St. Andrews, with Cardinal David Beaton witnessing his death.
