George Abramovich Koval, an American engineer, served as a Soviet intelligence officer for the Soviet atomic bomb project. Infiltrating the Manhattan Project as a GRU agent under the code name DELMAR, he played a key role in accelerating the Soviet Union’s nuclear weapons development. Koval provided vital information on production processes, materials volumes, and weapon production sites, ultimately contributing to the Soviet Union’s advancement in nuclear capabilities. He was later awarded the Hero of the Russian Federation decoration posthumously for his service.
