George Stanley Halas Sr., also known as “Papa Bear” and “Mr. Everything,” was a key figure in American sports history. He excelled as both a player and coach in American football, notably founding and owning the Chicago Bears of the NFL. Halas was also a player for the New York Yankees in MLB. As a co-founder of the NFL in 1920, he was honored with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963. Halas made history as the oldest NFL head coach, continuing to coach well into his career.
