Freddie Young, a British cinematographer, had a successful career working on over 130 films. He is widely recognized for his cinematography in David Lean’s famous movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, and Ryan’s Daughter, all of which garnered him Academy Awards for Best Cinematography. Young was known for his pioneering work with CinemaScope and also made significant contributions to films like Goodbye, Mr. Chips, Lust for Life, and the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice. In addition to his film work, Young wrote a book on cinematography and directed a television film in 1984.
