Floyd Patterson was an accomplished American professional boxer who competed from 1952 to 1972. He held the world heavyweight championship twice between 1956 and 1962. Known for being the youngest boxer to win the title at 21 and the first heavyweight to regain it after losing, he was also an Olympic gold medalist in the middleweight division in 1952. Patterson was named among the top 15 heavyweights of all time and was voted Fighter of the Year in 1956 and 1960. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991.
