Facundo Cabral, the renowned Argentine singer and songwriter, was known for his impactful compositions such as “No soy de aquí ni soy de allá” and “Pobrecito mi Patrón”. He used his music to protest against military dictatorships in Latin America, advocating for peace, social justice, and equality. Cabral gained widespread popularity in the early 1980s after touring the world, particularly in his home country and across Latin America. In recognition of his advocacy work, he was honored as a UNESCO Messenger of Peace in 1996. Tragically, Cabral’s life was cut short when he was fatally shot during a tour in Guatemala City in 2011.
