Edgar Mitchell was a distinguished United States Navy officer, aviator, and test pilot who later became a NASA astronaut. He made history as the sixth person to walk on the Moon during the Apollo 14 mission in 1971. Mitchell was highly educated, holding degrees in Industrial Management, aeronautical engineering, and a doctorate in Aeronautics and Astronautics. He excelled in his military training and later served as an instructor for astronaut candidates. Following his time at NASA, Mitchell focused on scientific and parapsychology work, particularly through the Institute of Noetic Sciences.
