Szabo also played a critical role in leading her team to victory at the 1987 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, where they triumphed over the formidable USSR team. As a result of her remarkable contributions to gymnastics, Szabo was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2000.
