Donovan, a Scottish musician and record producer, rose to fame in 1965 from the British folk scene. In the late 1960s, he gained international success with a unique blend of folk, pop, psychedelic rock, and jazz, producing hit singles and albums. His collaborations with producer Mickie Most resulted in chart-topping songs like “Sunshine Superman,” “Mellow Yellow,” and “Hurdy Gurdy Man.” Despite facing commercial challenges in the 1970s, Donovan experienced a resurgence in the 1990s and remains active in performing and recording music.
