Dieric Bouts was an influential Early Netherlandish painter known for his innovative techniques and artistic style. He possibly studied under Rogier van der Weyden and Jan van Eyck, reflecting their influence in his work. Bouts established himself in Leuven and worked there from at least 1457 until his passing in 1475. He is recognized for being one of the first northern painters to use a single vanishing point in his compositions, notably seen in his renowned piece, the Last Supper.
