Dick Tiger, a Nigerian professional boxer, achieved the undisputed middleweight and light-heavyweight championships. He pursued his boxing career in Liverpool, England, and later in the United States. During the Nigerian Civil War, Tiger served as a Lieutenant in the Biafran army, training soldiers in hand-to-hand combat. Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991, he was celebrated as Fighter of the Year multiple times by The Ring magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America. Tiger is highly esteemed as one of the top boxers of the 1960s and the 20th century.
