Richard “Dick” Wagstaff Clark was a prominent American television and radio personality, television producer, and CEO of Dick Clark Productions. He hosted American Bandstand for over three decades, playing a pivotal role in introducing rock and roll to a wide audience and launching the careers of numerous music artists. Clark also helmed various iterations of the Pyramid game show and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Additionally, he established the American Bandstand Diner restaurant chain and initiated the American Music Awards. Recognized for his perpetually youthful appearance, Clark was affectionately known as “America’s oldest teenager.”
