Devyani Chaubal was a prominent Indian journalist and columnist known for her work in the 1960s and 1970s. She gained recognition for her “Frankly Speaking” column in Star and Style magazine, where she coined the term “superstar” for Rajesh Khanna. Chaubal was a pioneer in introducing gossip and accusations to Indian film journalism, previously free of such elements. She maintained credibility through well-researched content and was one of the first to incorporate Hinglish into her writing. Despite facing health challenges, she continued writing until her passing in 1995.
