Hartman wrote and recorded popular songs like “Free Ride” with the Edgar Winter Group, as well as solo hits such as “Relight My Fire,” “Instant Replay,” “I Can Dream About You,” “We Are the Young,” and “Second Nature.” His songwriting and production skills were also evident in hits like “Living in America” by James Brown and the disco classic “Love Sensation” performed by Loleatta Holloway.
