Crystal Catherine Eastman was a respected American lawyer, feminist, socialist, and journalist celebrated for her work in promoting women’s suffrage and peace. She co-founded The Liberator magazine with her brother Max Eastman, played a pivotal role in founding the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and was a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union. In 2000, Eastman was honored with induction into the National Women’s Hall of Fame for her noteworthy contributions to social and political causes.
