Claus von Bülow, a British lawyer and consultant, gained notoriety for his prominent legal career and socialite status. He was initially convicted in 1982 for the attempted murder of his wife, causing her to fall into a temporary coma. Allegations of an insulin overdose leading to her persistent vegetative state followed. Following successful appeals, his convictions were overturned, and he was ultimately acquitted in a subsequent trial.
