Chrissie Hynde is a celebrated American-British musician who is best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band The Pretenders. She founded the band in 1978 in England and has been the only continuous member, contributing to every studio album. Hynde has collaborated with various artists including Frank Sinatra, Cher, and UB40. In 2014, she released her first solo album, Stockholm. She was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 as a member of The Pretenders.
