Christopher Robert Pronger is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015. He was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy in 1999-2000 for being the NHL’s most valuable player. During his career, Pronger played for the Hartford Whalers, St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, and Philadelphia Flyers. He served as captain for the Blues, Ducks, and Flyers, and won the Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007. Pronger is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a member of the Triple Gold Club. His playing career came to an end in 2011 due to post-concussion syndrome, after which he joined the NHL’s Player Safety Division.
