Chris Amon, a highly skilled New Zealand motor racing driver, had an impressive career in Formula One during the 1960s and 1970s. Despite not winning a championship Grand Prix, he was considered one of the best F1 drivers. Amon faced consistent bad luck throughout his career but was praised for his exceptional test driving skills by Ferrari’s Mauro Forghieri. He briefly managed his own Formula One team and achieved success in sports car racing, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 with Bruce McLaren.
