Chi Ling Dai Cheng, an American musician, gained fame as the bassist and backing vocalist for the alternative metal band Deftones. He contributed significantly to the band’s sound after joining in 1990. Unfortunately, his musical career was tragically cut short in 2008 due to a severe car accident. Cheng remained in a semi-comatose state until his passing in 2013. Sergio Vega, a friend of the band, took over as the full-time bassist in Cheng’s absence until 2021.
