Carsten “Calle” Fischer, a former field hockey player from West Germany, was renowned for his exceptional skills in penalty corners. He participated in four Summer Olympics, clinching a gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Games, and silver medals at the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Olympics. Fischer scored 154 goals in his 259 international matches for Germany. His club hockey stint at HTC Uhlenhorst Mülheim in Mülheim an der Ruhr was a standout in his career. Fischer retired in 1996 after a successful international and national career.
