Brian Jones, an English musician, was the founder of the Rolling Stones. He initially played slide guitar and contributed backing vocals and played various instruments in recordings and live shows. However, as his bandmates Richards and Jagger began to shape the band’s musical direction, his influence waned. Jones struggled with alcohol and drug issues, which impacted his performance in the studio and ultimately led to his departure from the band in 1969. Shortly after leaving the Rolling Stones, he tragically passed away by drowning at the age of 27.
