Benozzo Gozzoli, an Italian Renaissance painter, was renowned for his vibrant murals in the Magi Chapel of the Palazzo Medici-Riccardi. His work, influenced by the International Gothic style, demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and realistic depictions of landscapes. A student of Fra Angelico, Gozzoli’s fresco cycle in the chapel reflected a growing Renaissance fascination with nature and human subjects. Considered one of the most productive fresco painters of his era, he worked primarily in Tuscany but also took on projects in Umbria and Rome.
