Beatrice Wood, an American artist and studio potter, was a key figure in the Avant Garde movement in the United States. She played a significant role in co-founding and editing The Blind Man and Rongwrong magazines in New York City alongside Marcel Duchamp and Henri-Pierre Roché. Wood began her artistic journey studying art and theater in Paris but later transitioned to sculpture and pottery in New York. Known as the “Mama of Dada,” Wood made notable contributions to the movement. Her work even inspired a character in the film Titanic.
