Apolinario Mabini y Maranan was a prominent Filipino revolutionary leader, educator, lawyer, and statesman. He served as a legal and constitutional adviser to the Revolutionary Government and later became the first Prime Minister of the Philippines. Known as the “utak ng himagsikan” or “brain of the revolution,” Mabini played a vital role in shaping the country’s fight for independence. His significant works, including El Verdadero Decálogo and Programa Constitucional de la República Filipina, were instrumental in drafting the Malolos Constitution. Despite facing challenges due to polio, which left him with both legs paralyzed, Mabini continued his revolutionary and governmental activities, challenging Spanish and American colonial rule in Philippine history.
