Anita Bryant gained fame as an American singer with three top 20 hits in the early 1960s. She also served as a brand ambassador for the Florida Citrus Commission from 1969 to 1980. In the late 1970s, she became known for her involvement in the anti-gay rights movement, particularly leading the “Save Our Children” campaign in Florida. Despite some success with the campaign, her public image suffered, resulting in the termination of her contract with the Florida Citrus Commission. Following this setback, she filed for bankruptcy twice but has since focused on charity work.
