Alan Duncan is a British ex-politician who held ministerial roles in the UK government from 2010 to 2019. He served as Minister of State for International Development (2010-2014) and Minister of State for Europe and the Americas (2016-2019). Duncan represented Rutland and Melton in Parliament from 1992 to 2019. Prior to his political career, he worked in the oil industry with Royal Dutch Shell. Duncan had diverse government positions, including a role on the Intelligence and Security Committee. Notably, he was the first openly gay Conservative Member of Parliament.
