He was a significant figure in Islamic history, known as a mujaddid in the 11th century. His works, particularly “The Revival of the Religious Sciences” and “Incoherence of the Philosophers,” were highly esteemed during his time. Al-Ghazali served as the head of the Nizzamiyya University in Baghdad, where a spiritual crisis prompted his self-imposed exile and a period of prolific writing.
