He established Lindisfarne Priory, became its first bishop, and set up a ministry cathedral. Aidan was committed to spreading the gospel, ministering to all levels of society, including the Anglo-Saxon nobility, children, and slaves. Through his extensive travels, he earned the title of the Apostle of Northumbria and is venerated as a saint by numerous Christian denominations.
