Adam Silver is an American lawyer and sports executive who currently serves as the fifth commissioner of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He joined the NBA in 1992 and advanced to the positions of chief operating officer and deputy commissioner under David Stern. In 2014, Silver assumed the role of commissioner and has since been instrumental in the league’s economic and global expansion, particularly in China. He gained recognition for his management of the Donald Sterling controversy in 2014, which led to Sterling’s lifetime ban and the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers.
