Anthony James Allmendinger, known as “The Dinger,” is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Kaulig Racing, driving the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro, and part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the Nos. 16 and 13 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s for the same team. Allmendinger made the transition from American open-wheel racing to NASCAR and has driven for various teams including Team Red Bull, Richard Petty Motorsports, Penske Racing, Phoenix Racing, and JTG Daugherty Racing. He has also worked as a part-time television broadcaster for NBC, covering IMSA races and NASCAR events. Allmendinger has a successful history at the 24 Hours of Daytona, winning the event in 2012 with Michael Shank’s team.
