Gretl Braun was closely associated with Adolf Hitler during World War II, being a part of his inner social circle at the Berghof. She became Hitler’s sister-in-law through her marriage to SS-Gruppenführer Hermann Fegelein, who served as a liaison officer on Hitler’s staff. After Fegelein was executed for desertion, Gretl was able to survive the war relatively unscathed. She eventually changed her name, remarried, and lived a quiet life until her passing in 1987.
