He played the majority of his 14-year career with the Golden State Warriors, earning seven All-Star selections. Thurmond made history as the first player to achieve a quadruple-double in an NBA game and showcased remarkable rebounding skills, including a game where he grabbed 42 rebounds. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, and selected for the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Both the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers retired his No. 42 jersey in recognition of his significant contributions to the sport.
