Fofão, also known as Hélia Rogério de Souza, is a Brazilian retired volleyball player with an illustrious career. She represented her country in five consecutive Summer Olympics, from 1992 to 2008, achieving significant success. Fofão secured a gold medal in 2008 and two bronze medals in 1996 and 2000. Additionally, she triumphed at the 1999 Pan American Games. Her nickname “Fofão” is derived from her resemblance to a popular character from a Brazilian children’s TV show in the 1980s.
