Stella Adler, an American actress and acting teacher, established the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City in 1949. Transitioning from acting to producing, directing, and teaching, she also had a presence in Los Angeles through her protégée, actress Joanne Linville. Adler’s influential teachings are still carried on by her students today.
