Marat Safin is a retired Russian tennis player who achieved the world No. 1 ranking in 2000, making him the youngest player at the time to do so. He won two Grand Slam titles, the US Open in 2000 and the Australian Open in 2005. Safin also played a key role in leading Russia to Davis Cup victories in 2002 and 2006. In 2016, he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Safin has received four ATP Awards and holds a perfect record against Novak Djokovic.
