Monica Seles is a former world No. 1 tennis player who won nine major singles titles. She became the youngest-ever French Open champion at 16 and won eight major singles titles before turning 20. In 1993, Seles was stabbed by an obsessed fan of her rival, leading to a two-year hiatus from tennis. Despite a successful return, she couldn’t consistently reach her previous level. Seles retired officially in February 2008 and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2009.
