Dizzy Dean was a renowned American professional baseball pitcher who played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Browns in Major League Baseball. He was known for his vibrant personality and achieved the remarkable accomplishment of being the final National League pitcher to win 30 games in a season in 1934. Following his playing career, Dean found success as a television sports commentator. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953 and the Cardinals’ Hall of Fame in 2014.
