Mo Tae-bum is a successful South Korean speed skater known for his accomplishments in the sport. He started speedskating in third grade and has been competing on both national and international levels since the mid-2000s. Mo gained attention after winning two Junior World Championships in 2006 and later securing gold medals in the 1000 m and 1500 m events at the Winter Universiade in 2009. His breakthrough came in the 2010 Winter Olympics where he became the first Korean to win a gold medal in a long track speed skating event.
