Al-Afghani emphasized the importance of uniting Muslims against Western influences, prioritizing solidarity over minor religious disagreements. Additionally, he was involved in a plot to eliminate Shah Naser-al-Din, whom he believed was making excessive concessions to foreign powers, notably the British Empire.
