Wat Tyler played a key role in the 1381 Peasants’ Revolt in England. He led a group of rebels from Canterbury to London to protest the poll tax and push for economic and social reforms. Despite his leadership and determination, Tyler was killed by King Richard II’s loyal officers during negotiations in Smithfield, London.
