Asbjørn Ruud was a celebrated Norwegian ski jumper who excelled in the sport during the 1930s and 1940s. He achieved notable success in international ski jumping competitions, winning a gold medal at the 1938 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and emerging victorious at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1948. Ruud also performed admirably at the 1948 Winter Olympics, finishing seventh in the individual large hill competition.
