Remigius Machura is a retired Czech shot putter known for his achievements in international competitions such as winning a bronze medal at the first World Championships and a gold medal at the first World Indoor Championships. Despite facing a lifetime ban for using Stanozolol in 1985, which was later overturned, Machura openly admitted to using banned substances throughout his career. He was also involved in a state-sponsored doping program in 1980s Czechoslovakia. His personal best put of 21.93 meters ranks him 20th in the all-time performers list and he still holds the Czech record for shot put.
