He made significant contributions to science in Italy and France, developing a precursor to atomic theory and pioneering innovative techniques in astronomy. Boscovich’s geometric method for determining a planet’s equator and computing its orbit was groundbreaking. In 1753, he confirmed the absence of an atmosphere on the Moon.
