Robert Gaston Moch was an accomplished coxswain who won Olympic gold at the 1936 Summer Olympics. After his successful athletic career, he transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant crew coach at the University of Washington and later becoming the head crew coach at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Moch also pursued higher education, earning his law degree from Harvard Law School. He went on to have a successful legal career in Seattle, culminating in winning a case in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.
